A casual co-op escape room game where every room is themed around what your group actually loves. Plays in the browser, no install or account needed.

Astro TypeScript React Three.js Colyseus Game Development

Trivial Escape is a co-op escape room game built for game night. Each player picks a few interests, like retro games, pop music, history or the outdoors, and the game builds one room per player themed to that person. Everyone plays each room the same way. The theming is a gift, not an advantage.

Built Around the Friend Who Can't Quite Make It

Every player gets both a 3D room view and a shared handler view with a map, prop manuals and pings. Someone on a train or half-watching TV can help with taps instead of sentences. Voice chat makes things faster and funnier, but nothing requires it.

Mixed-Ability by Design

Difficulty is set per player within a shared session, so kids, parents and puzzle veterans can all play the same room.

Tech

The marketing site is built in Astro. The game runs on an authoritative Colyseus server with a React/Redux shell over a vanilla Three.js renderer. Tauri (desktop/Steam) and Capacitor (iOS/Android) wrappers are planned. A public alpha is targeted for Q1 2027.
